Another Great Kim Matula Scoop
More great press for Kim Matula (who plays College Nate in "Pink") about her growing popularity on the CBS daytime soap opera "The Bold & The Beautiful"...
Speaking of a promising newcomer. Starlet Kimberly Matula is giving a magnificent performance as ever suffering ingĂ©nue Hope Logan. The beautiful blonde actress won viewers over initially for her beauty, but she’s become a great performer.

Exclusive or Super-Syndication Release?
Check out this good article talking web series release models from NewTeeVee...
Direct link:
http://gigaom.com/video/should-you-take-your-web-series-exclusive/
We definitely went for super-syndication with PINK, although for seasons two and three we gave Vuze a 24 hour exclusive - then the shows went out "everywhere".
Since 2007 PINK has been seen on YouTube, TheWB.com, Hulu, Yahoo, MSNBC, Vuze, Revver, MySpace, Koldcast, iTunes, Metacafe, Veoh, Blip, Break, and others we're probably forgetting.
If you're putting the content out for "free", then we feel it should be available pretty much anywhere folks can watch online video. However, if you're going for a "Freemium" or even a Pay-per-view (or VOD) then exclusivity is obviously the way to go. Or of course if you land a show sponsor, then likely one site or one portal would be used (unless it was product placement and then they might want the show to be available everywhere).
For the record, most of our views have come from YouTube, Hulu and Metacafe

Web Series Viewers "Entertained"
Interesting article at Tubefilter on folks who watch web series...
A few stats:
•60% watch Web original video content weekly
•58% see Web originals as providing quality entertainment whenever they want it
•Over one quarter of viewers find Web original content to be more entertaining than traditional television
That's pretty impressive! We'd like to think we helped start this trend with "Pink", and we hope to continue it in the future too with more content.
Here's a link to the full article:

We're all about strong kick-ass female characters around here, and it looks like they are too.
And they just recently covered Pink's creator Blake Calhoun's new series Continuum (which also stars a strong female lead)...

TheWB.com Gets a (Needed) Facelift
TheWB.com got a recent facelift and it looks to us to be a similar design to Hulu, which ain't a bad idea. It's much simpler, with more space and a lot of white. We think overall it's a better user experience. The videos seem to play better too, although on our recent visit they didn't auto play the "next video" as it says it will, but we're still liking what we see.
Check it out for yourself at the "PINK" show page...

As usual, thanks for the support! :)

Well Said, Mr. Street
A good commentary about the Streamys and the IAWTV issues from a veteran web video creator, Tim Street:
Someone from old media once asked me, “Who do these guys think they are?” “Who gave them permission to do that?” I said, “It’s web video, you don’t have to ask permission, you just go do it.”
